Simple recipe for a tangy, hot sauce. The crushed peanuts and sesame seeds give it a great crunch and the onions and garlic give it texture. Can be served as a dip with some rice crackers or even with some steak or fried chicken. You can also simply add it to a stir fry.
Makes one big bowl
1 large onion, finely chopped
6-7 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
2 tbsp coarsely crushed black pepper
2 tbsp white sesame seeds
2 tbsp crushed peanuts
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp chicken stock
salt to taste
1 green chili, finely chopped
1 tbsp crushed mustard seeds
In a wok, or any shallow pan, heat some oil. Once heated, keep on a medium flame and add in the garlic, chili and onions. Once the onions start sweating, add in the brown sugar and saute till the onions begin to color, add in the chicken stock, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce along with the salt.
After a minute or two, add in the sesame seeds, the pepper, the mustard seeds and the crushed peanuts. Mix and heat to a slightly saucy-thick consistency.
Take it off the heat and serve!
