Quick asian flavoured meatballs with hoisin sauce and some stir fried spring onions.
500 boneless chicken cut into small chunks
2 onions, finely chopped
3tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 chili, finely chopped, depends on how hot you like it
1 tsp ground black pepper
4 tbsp soy sauce
handful of roughly chopped spring onions
salt for seasoning
2 tbsp rice flour
oil for frying
In a shallow pan, heat a some oil and saute the chicken in it till golden. Remove from pan and add the ginger garlic paste, onions and chili and caramalise. Transfer both the chicken and the caramalised onion mixture to a food processor and blend till combined. Season with salt and pepper
Add in half of the soy sauce, lightly whisked egg and rice flour and mix till you get a dough-like mixture. Gently roll it into bite sized balls and saute in a wok in batches till golden brown and cooked throughly.
In the same wok toss spring onions with soy sauce for a minute or so. Garnish over the balls and serve with hoisin sauce.
