Chocolate Scones

Super easy and super yummy. You can try putting in nuts or raisins instead of chocolate chips.


280g self-raising flour
70g butter plus extra for greasing (softened)
1 tbsp caster sugar
55g chocolate chips
150ml milk plus extra for glazing
icing sugar for dusting


1)Preheat oven tp 220°C.

2)Sift flour into a large bowl. Rub in cubes of butter till you get a bread crumb-like consistency.

3)Mix in sugar and chocolate chips, mix in enough milk till you get a soft dough.

4)Roll out dough on a floured surface to form a 10cm by 15 cm rectangle which is roughly an inch thick. Cut into nine squares and place on a greased,lined tray. Leave enough space between two pieces for it to expand.

5)Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes till golden and risen.

Dust with icing sugar and enjoy with some jam or with a cup of hot chocolate!
